Italian Sports Minister “There are no minor sports”
Today Luca Lotti, Sports Minister of Italy, visited Boscherai, the headquarters of 15th FAI World Paragliding Championship Monte Avena 2017.
The Minister was accompanied by a group of mayors of main towns of the province among which there were Maria Teresa De Bortoli, the mayor of Pedavena, and Paolo Perenzin, the mayor of Feltre. The Sports Minister granted the organizers the certificate of acknowledgement and excellence for bringing the Paragliding Worlds into the region thus strengthening collaboration between sportsmen, local producers and tourist business. He also greeted the President of CIVL Stephane Malbos and exchanged with him brief visions on the development of free flying sports in Italy. After that at a short press conference Luca Lotti addressed the media: “We are here now because there are no minor sports. For us all sports have the same value. Overcome any segregation is our primary objective. When we have events like this it has more than sports value – we speak about culture, tourism, economics and not only of sports performance. This message shall be widely spread and I am glad that the organizers of this event have outstanding success in that.” At the end of the meeting the Minister signed the memorial board of the Championship together with all the mayors.
